Accessible audio enables those who cannot view a screen or device to experience the content by describing important visual information they cannot see.
Here are a few markers of accessible audio done well:
- Recorded with high-quality microphone and other equipment
- Background sounds do not overpower someone speaking
- Speaking is clear and slow
- Sensory characteristics are described
These characteristics should be met whether your audio is part of a video or stand-alone content.
For detailed information on creating accessible audio, read the WCAG audio and video content guidelines.
